Subcommission Land Subsidence and Sea Level Change
The Subcommission Land Subsidence and Sea Level Change is an interdisciplinary organ. The mission of the Subcommission, deduced from the tasks of the Netherlands Geodetic Commission, are:
1. To give direction to fundamental and strategic research; 2. To promote the fixing and the diffusion of relevant knowledge; 3. To give information and advice.
Subcommission Geo-Information Infrastructure
The Subcommission wants to advance the geo-information infrastructure by stimulating the knowledge and the research of the stakeholders. The Subcommission is working on drawing up her goals and tasks. The Subcommission proceeds from the Subcommission Geo-Information Models.
Subcommission Geodetic Infrastructure and Reference Systems
The Subcommission Geodetic Infrastructure and Reference Systems is aiming at an integral approach of the geometric infrastructure of the Netherlands. This is done by furthering the coupling of the different reference systems and aiming at an accessibility of the systems as good as possible. The Subcommission distinguishes reference systems for height, gravity and position in two and three dimensions.
Subcommission Marine Geodesy
The Subcommission Marine Geodesy is an organ with members working in different areas of Marine Geodesy. The Subcommission
gives direction to fundamental and strategic research,
provides for international contacts and
disseminates growing out knowledge and information.
Publications
The NCG publishes results of research in geodesy and geo-information, workshops and symposia in the series 'Publications on Geodesy' ('Yellow Series' in English) and 'Green Series' (mainly in Dutch). All available titles can be ordered directly.
Subcommission Core Spatial Data
The Subcommission is engaged with the following questions:
1. How will the need for topographical core data develop, especially for professional use? 2. What kind of services will be asked for in this context?
3. Which technological developments in the field of sensors, extraction of information, (visual) representation and ICT are relevant for the future supply of products and services with regard to topographical core data?
4. To what extent do these developments offer possibilities for new specifications for topographical core data and new kind of services in this context?
5. Which institutional roles are there fulfill in this context?

Agenda
NCG
The NCG (Netherlands Geodetic Commission) co-ordinates and initiates fundamental and strategic research in geodesy and geo-information in the Netherlands. The NCG advises on general policy issues related to geodesy and geo-information, stimulates the spread knowledge in these fields and co-ordinates the geodetic infrastructure of the Netherlands. The NCG is part of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW).
The NCG consists of the Commission, subcommissions, the Board and the Office. The Office is located in Delft.
Subcommisions
The subcommissions of the NCG take care of a specific part of the area of activity of the NCG. A subcommission is set up for a longer period and is able to initiate and to supervise research projects. It is the intention that the interdisciplinary relations, grouped around the fields of attention of geodesy and geo-information, will take shape in the subcommissions.
The subcommissions of the NCG are: Land Subsidence and Sea Level Change, Geo-Information Models, Geometric Infrastructure and Marine Geodesy.
Publications
The NCG publishes results of research in geodesy and geo-information, workshops and symposia in the series 'Publications on Geodesy' ('Yellow series' in English) and 'Green Series' (mainly in Dutch). All available titles can be ordered directly.
Studie Days
Baarda lezing'.
Research
The NCG initiates research that is of importance for the development of geodesy and geo-information in co-operation with universities, governmental departments and with companies.
Every two years the 'Prof. J.M. Tienstra Research Prize' is awarded to a researcher working in the field of geodesy and geo-information in the Netherlands.
